The plug in camera has three lighting modes, which can be found in the "Settings" menu under "Night Vision Mode":
IR Mode: During the day, the image is in color, and the lights are off. At night, the infrared lights are activated, resulting in a black and white image.
Color Mode: During the day, the image is in color, and the lights are off. At night, the white light is activated, resulting in a color image.
Auto Mode: During the day, the image is in color, and the lights are off. At night, when there is no one around, the infrared lights are activated, resulting in a black and white image.
When someone is detected, the infrared lights are turned off, and the white light is activated, resulting in a color image. After approximately one minute of no movement, the infrared lights are reactivated, and the white light is turned off, resulting in a black and white image.
